Common Whirlpool Problems
Both Whirlpool guides are built around Whirlpool's own error codes. On top-load washers, LdL and LdU mean the lid lock won't engage or release, and Ofb means the load is out of balance. With no code showing, confirm the washer drained, then check the lid switch and the belt. The direct-drive motor coupling, specific to Whirlpool's top-load platform, is the last check. On dishwashers, F9E1 is the drain fault, and Whirlpool's documentation checks the filter, then the drain hose, then the sink disposer, then the air gap.
